SP: Your debut album 'U Don't Want My Love' has just been released, how do you feel and how's has the reaction been so far?

Yeah it has, and I’m very very excited about it!!! Well it’s still a bit early to tell, but the reaction to the first single has been so good that I can only hope that the reaction to the album will be good as well.

SP: The title track has been played heavily on various radio stations In England and has also got attention from Blues & Soul, I guess you couldn't have asked for a better start?

That’s true, I’m still blown away when I think about all the attention that it’s gotten. From what I hear it’s unusual for an unknown artist to get attention like this, so for me to be in this position from the start with my first album is really a blessing.

SP: Original you are from USA but have lived in Europe for so time, Where are you located now?

Yes I was in Europe for a few years, in Germany and also in Belgium for a while, but now I’m back in Chicago close to my family. It was a great experience living in Europe, and being exposed to all the different cultures, and people. I had a really nice time there, and when it was time to leave it was quite difficult, but I’m sure that I’ll get the chance to go back over again. I had the chance to learn French, so I have to go back to practice. I don’t want to lose it, and as you can imagine there aren’t many people in Chicago who speak French!

SP:'U Don't Want My Love' is produced by the two German guys Rob Hardt and Harry Zier, who I believe you have worked with before?

Yes, I’ve known them for many years. In the beginning I did some session work with them, and even a few songs for myself, but I guess that the timing wasn’t right so nothing really became of the songs. We even lost touch for a while, and about four years ago we hooked up again and decided to seriously write some trax for me, and the result is the album “U don’t want my love”.

SP: Is it wrong to state that the album 'U Don't Want My Love' is influenced by the 70's and 80's soul music sound?

Not only is it NOT wrong to say that, but you hit the nail right on the head! That’s exactly the sound and style that we were going for. Robbie, Harry, and I all love very much the music from that era, so it was just a natural gravitation towards that style. For me personally it’s the same style that I’ve been singing all my life, so it was very easy, and also nice to hook up with producers who were into the same type of music.

SP: Which artist are your musically influences ?

Well the biggest influence on me would have to be the late and very GREAT Luther Vandross. I loved his passion for music, and the way he would sing each and every lyric as if it were a song unto itself. He was so smooth and seemed to sing so effortlessly. I also loved his sense of humor, he wasn’t afraid to laugh at himself. His shoes in my humble opinion will be very hard, if not impossible to fill!!!

SP: Your album is out on UK label Dome Records how did that happen ?

Well the album was heard by some people who know some people at Dome records. They got it heard by the right people, and the rest is history.

SP: I would imagine that you look forward to go out a perform live, Where can you been seen and heard in the next months to come?

Yes, I love to perform live, there is so much energy, and you really have to be alert and pay attention to what you sing. In the studio you have the chance to sing the same line 100 times if you want to, but live you have one shot to get it right, and I like the risky ness of that. As far as where, I hope to be in the U.K. very soon sharing my passion for music, so stay tuned!

SP: The album contains some cover versions, that perhaps are some of Your personal favorites, would you be so kind to do us you own personal top ten of all time?

Of course. My number one would have to be “A House Is Not A Home” by Luther Vandross. The rest are in no particular order, I just love them all.

    2. Ain’t no Way - Aretha Franklin
    3. Every Year Every Christmas - Luther Vandross
    4. The Impossible Dream” Luther Vandross
    5. That Girl - Stevie Wonder
    6. Let Me Show You The Way To Go - The Jacksons
    7. You Sure Love To Ball - Marvin Gaye
    8. Jesus To A Child - George Michael
    9. I just Wanna Stop - Gino Vanelli
    10.My Prayer - The Platters

It’s very hard to pick only ten, but these are the ten just off the top of my head. I love many types of music, so this list just scratches the surface.
